President Trump: Year in Review

President Trump's first year in office has been one wild ride since the start.
Note: This is not fake news. Year one of the Trump presidency has been a roller coaster, from tax cuts to potential Russian collusion to the tweets, this first year has engaged even the least political folks. Firstly, Trump's biggest accomplishment to date is the tax bill signed in December, the biggest tax cut in three decades. Although the White House argues that the cuts will create jobs, boost economic growth and increase the amount of cash that middle class families will have, critics say that the biggest benefits go to the big corporations and the wealthy. This tax bill also will increase the national debt, so much that by 2028, the national debt could be larger than the size of the economy. Secondly, President Trump has removed America from the Paris Climate Agreement, an agreement with nearly 200 countries involved, which is a response to climate change, a serious problem all over the world. Countries involved are making changes to reduce global warming. On another more positive look, jobs are at an all time high. Despite creating jobs and putting massive tax cuts in place, through December 31 of 2017, Trump's approval rating was the lowest of any president at a mere 39%. Then there’s Twitter, maybe the highlight of his term so far are his sometimes outrageous tweets. These tweets include tweets about “Little Rocket Man”, firing NFL protesters, and “Fake News”. Although these tweets are sometimes outrageous and even worrisome, it keeps Americans interested, thinking “What will Trump tweet today?” Oh, and did I mention the potential nuclear war between the US and North Korea? As of February, there is still tension between the two leaders of these countries and it hasn’t been resolved yet. Then there is the Russia fiasco. Michael Flynn, Trump's former National Security Adviser was found guilty of lying to the FBI. Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr. said he was interested in Russian dirt on presidential opponent Hillary Clinton, to James Comey being fired as the investigation was getting hot. The investigation is still ongoing as of February and the future is unclear. Finally, there's Trump's wall, the large, expensive wall, with Trump wanting $25 billion for it to be built. Year two is underway and I am sure things will remain “interesting” for the rest of Donald Trump’s term as president of the USA.
