Rocket League is a fantastical sport-based video game. Many would say it’s like “soccer with cars”. It features a competitive game mode based on teamwork and outmaneuvering opponents. Extremely similar to the traditional sport of Soccer, teams made up of three players will work together to advance the ball down the field and score goals in their opponents’ net. Each team starts on opposite sides of the field (either Blue or Orange). The ball starts in the middle of the field. After a countdown, the timer begins, and players race to be the first to hit the ball with their car. Once the ball is in play, the 5-minute countdown starts, only stopping when a goal is scored. A team wins the match by scoring more goals than their opponent within the 5-minute time limit. Tied games will be sent to Overtime, where the first team to score will be the winner of the game. This game is rated E for Everyone.

Camp will focus on learning the game, playing as a team, and increasing both your skill level and knowledge base. Work with experts in the game and play in the state-of-the-art E-Sports Arena at Calvert Hall!

This game is a team-based, 1st person, game that does involve some shooting. Teams are comprised of 5 players who each select from a diverse group of heroes. Teams work together to complete objectives in matches. Camp will focus on learning the game, playing as a team, and increasing both your skill level and knowledge base of the hero’s. The game emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and adaptability. Real world skills beyond teamwork and collaboration, include strategic thinking and problem solving. Parents should be advised that this game is considered a shooting game without blood or bullets. Most of the shooting involves magic orbs, lasers, and other animated projectiles. This camp is recommended for students 12 and older. Students will work with experts who are ranked in Overwatch and play in the state-of-the-art E-Sports Arena at Calvert Hall! The E-Sports arena has 20 PC stations with console attachments. Students can participate in camp if they are PC or console players!
