TOWSON, MD – Calvert Hall Athletic Director Lou Eckerl has announced the school has hired Donald Davis, a 1996 graduate and former player, as the school's new head football coach.  Davis, who will also be a member of the school's faculty beginning in September 2007, had been the head football coach at Cardinal Gibbons for the past four seasons. He has been a member of the Cardinal Gibbons faculty since 2001 and also the school's Track coach since 2002.

Davis guided Cardinal Gibbons to the MIAA B Conference North Division Championship in 2006 and was named MIAA Coach of the Year by the Baltimore Touchdown Club and the Catholic Review.  During his four year tenure as football coach, he compiled a record of 30-14.  In addition, in the past 3 seasons, the program graduated 36 seniors, 13 of which moved on to play football at the collegiate level and 33 of the 36 are currently enrolled in institutions of higher education.  He also coached the track team to MIAA B Conference Championships in 2002-04 and 2006.

Davis played football at Calvert Hall for Lou Eckerl.  Upon graduating from The Hall, Davis played at Johns Hopkins University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology in 2000.

“It's a tremendous blessing and honor to be afforded the opportunity to teach and coach at my high school alma mater.  I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead,” Davis said.
