Our goal is to make the audition process as relaxed as possible. The point of the audition is to get a general idea of your son’s musical ability and background. The guidelines for the auditions are as follows:
One prepared piece – This can be either a solo or a selection from their school music that best showcases their ability on their instrument.
Major and/or chromatic scales (Show us what you know - Memorization not required)
A simple sight-reading piece will be provided at the audition
Auditions will take place on January 14, 15, and 16, 2025. Please select a single 10-minute Audition Slot from the list of available times. We hold two auditions per time slot. Please arrive 10 minutes before your audition time, so that you can properly warm-up.
Confirmations will be sent via email to the address provided when you complete your registration.

One prepared piece- this can be something patriotic in nature, for example “The Star-Spangled Banner”. You may also sing a selection from your school choir’s repertoire.
Students will also be assessed on some simple exercises to test your vocal register and ability to match pitch.
Auditions are held in the Choir Room (Room 306), which is located on the back side of the Knott Center. From the front parking lot (off La Salle), follow the walkway towards the left. Walk between the two building and pass the front entrance to the Knott Center (continue straight). Once you get to the end of the Knott Center, follow the steps down behind the building, as if going to George Young Hall. The door to the Choir Room (306) will be as you go down the stairs.
The vocal music auditions will take place on Friday, January 17, 2025. Please select a single 10-minute Audition Slot from the list of available times.

Students will do an observation drawing of a still life to evaluate drawing ability. No need to bring art supplies, they will be provided. If you have an art portfolio, please bring to showcase your previous works, but is not required.
Auditions will be held in the Art Room, which is room 240 of George Young Hall top floor. From the front of Keelty, follow the walkway to the left and continue in-between the two buildings. You will cross the bridge and up one floor.
On January 25, 2025, students should arrive to the Art Room by 9:30 AM and plan to be there until 11:00 AM.
In case of inclement weather, you will receive an email regarding a reschedule of the audition. In general, if Baltimore County schools are closed, the audition will be rescheduled.
