After the school day today, we sat down to talk to Mr. Hall, the husband of the Little Flower Academy teacher, Mrs. Kelly. He sat down and told us that he didn’t want to say his usual spiel that he uses for all the emersion groups. He decided to accept that he would go from tangent to tangent today, even if it meant sacrificing some of his conciseness. Mr. Hall talked about whatever important came to his mind.

One thing that really stuck out to me was his unwillingness to judge us. He told us that even though we came from a private school, he didn’t want to call us privileged. He said that even though we came from Maryland and were white, he didn’t want to believe that we had it any easier since he came from Browning and was Blackfoot. Viewing issues from all perspectives is extremely important to him. He reminded us that everybody has their own stories and trauma, and judging someone without knowing what they’ve been through cuts off many paths of dialogue we would otherwise have.- John T.
